What We Do
Kisoro Children’s Foundation is a Massachusetts Public Charity that exists to help build schools, support educational programs, fund scholarships for school expenses, and provide other resources to support children and families in Kisoro, Uganda. Our initial efforts have involved partnering with the Ineza Children’s Centre, a nationally registered and recognized community-based non-profit organization in Kisoro, Uganda.
We are thrilled to have been able to provide funding for a permanent home for the Ineza Children’s Centre and Ineza Parents’ School. The four beautiful buildings were completed in May 2018. Since then we have completed other capital projects including the purchase and renovation of an abutting building to use for additional classroom space. We have equipped a library and have provided funds for furniture, a water purification system, energy efficient cook stoves, water tanks, sanitary supplies for Seseme Secondary School for Girls, scholarships for secondary school girls, and scholarships for children at Ineza Parent’s School. We recently completed two beautiful playgrounds at Ineza Parent’s School. For the coming year, we need funds for the following projects:
Scholarships for 70 children to attend Ineza Parents’ School ($310 per child annually).
Scholarships and living support for 100 impoverished girls and young women (approximately $495 per girl annually for secondary-school aged girls, $1135 each for young women in nursing school or professional school, and $2900 for a university student).
Several projects at the school including sheds for firewood storage and dish drying; the provision of more water tanks and collection systems for rainwater; painting the school; and additional furniture.
